Working Out Opportunities

Still talking about Opportunities.

Sometime ago, I was planning an event that required the participation of external organisations. Realizing that their acceptance to be a part of the event was going to depend a lot on the packaging of the proposals that I was going to send to them, I spent a lot of time. I did research. I studied. I pointed out what they stood to gain by their involvement in the programme. I also pointed out what I stood to gain. It was going to be a WIN-WIN situation for both of us. I was working to open the doors to opportunities for myself.

In over 90% of the time we have to literally work out the opportunities. They rarely drop in our laps. Working out the opportunities will require a lot of determination, a lot of energy, a lot of efforts.

Getting back to my event, I reasoned within myself that if I spread my tentacles wide, I'll have the opportunity of getting some positives. In otherwords, I was already prepared that there was a possibility that there weren't going to be some conversions. It brought out one salient factor - when we prepare ourselves for the possibilities of some opportunities not sailing through, our mentalities will already be prepared for whatever eventuality that pops up. That will help to keep our Attitudes Right. Well, some of the organisations I linked up were not ready to work with the proposal. Why? Like they said, the timing was not right for them. Did that discourage me? It simply drove me to seek other organisations that could work with me. Did I succeed? You bet I did.

I maintained a winning attitude because I was already prepared that all the efforts may not convert. Of course I was very optimistic that all in all at least 1 of the efforts was to going to yield.

I encourage you to prepare your heart ahead. It will help your Attitude. If one does not yield, the other may yield.

The hunger and passion for genuine wealth creation techniques was evident in our participants . Productivity - Enhanced by Purpose! (I)

If you take aim at nothing, chances are 99.99% you will hit nothing. In otherwords, your success or achievement rate is 0.01%. (I think that is pretty challenging.) Even if you do hit something in a crowded terrain or environment, your productivity level would still be less. This is because
whatever you may have hit in that purposeless aim may have no contributory factor in your measurement of achievement/productivity.

Show me a man who keeps taking aim at nothing and I will show you a man that will eventually become disllusioned with himself and with life. I encourage you to guard against anything that could birth disllusionment in your being.

If however you take aim at something specific, all things being equal, you have a 50/50 chance of success.

Productivity is determined by the specifics that you target towards.

An ancient writing by Jesus Christ, the greatest, declares "...My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work..." He defined His purpose and then began targetting to achieve it. That is how productivity in a defined direction is measured!

Obviously, it's not enough to take aim. You must inevitably SHOOT - if you must have productivity answer to your name. I urge you therefore, choose a specific area and direct your energies and time towards the achievement of the purpose. The results will release fresh strength and stamina to go on into your being.

A wise man outlined the gains of keeping your gaze and focus towards a particular direction. I'll be making references to those in my next post.

Productivity - The Source of Excellence!

The Longman's dictionary of Contemporary English defines Productivity as the rate at which goods are produced, and the amount produced, especially in relation to the work, time, and money needed to produce them. Obviously, productivity is very crucial to every human being.

In the field of service generation, productivity could be defined as the rate at which results are generated, the quantity generated especially in relation to the effort, time, and money needed to generate them.

An artist after completing a master-piece work of art was asked by an amazed onlooker "...how did you come about this great work of art?..." answered "...I just kept at..."

To arrive at excellence in any field, you must be ready to keep at it. (That is, keep working. Keep producing). At the beginning, the results might be slim. But as you continue, the results will definitely increase. A wise saying in the holy book states "...Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men." Prov. 22:29. Excellence never results except there is genuine productivity. To become a master in any field requires that productivity will be key. Keep producing and ultimately your excellence will show forth.

The filament bulb created by Thomas Edison was the product of 9999 attempts. Constant tests...Experience...productivity finally resulted in excellence. He became a master of it. Today, reference is made to him.

If you give up trying and testing and producing, you will never reach excellence.

Check out the masters in any field...They are men and women that remained in the same field and went through the thick and the thin. They saw many things. Experienced many things. Faced many things. Went through the storm. Burnt the midnight oils. Paid the price. Had sleepless nights. Ultimately, they became gurus...experts in those areas!

Let's postion ourselves for continuous productivity and ultimately Excellence in our fields! Cheers!

Productivity - The Source of Enthusiasm!

Man by nature is a creature created for achievement. When productivity is absent in our lives, morale and enthusiasm could become very low. In very challenging climes, productivity can begin by tapping into the recesses of the mind for a solution to seen and existing problems.

It's been said that "necessity is the mother of invention". In otherwords, the presence of challenges and problems is an incentive to think for solutions. The process of thinking for solutions marks the beginning of becoming productive. And definitely, the moment we begin to see some light of possibility with regards to solutions in the areas our minds are engaged towards, a fresh enthusiasm begins to pour forth.

Therefore, let's get out of the failure and let down mentality and begin to think of ways to solve the myriad of problems around. For instance, lack of consistent electricity in many African nations is an incentive to begin to think of individual ways of generating electric power, for the sake of productivity, while the central government figures out how to sort out the national electric power issue. Other sources of electric power like the petrol and diesel generators, power inverters and solar panels for electricity generation becomes viable options.

Obviously, laying hold on these alternatives, though costlier, would still enable reasonable productivity to be secured which definitely will result in unparalled enthusiam.
